AI Business Automation Engineer

About invideo

invideo is the AI video platform for serious creatives. Our agents handle the grunt work so creatives can focus on the work they love — they remember a project's full context, push edits across multiple shots from a single prompt, and pick the right model for every scene. Most AI video tools force creatives to spend 90% of their time on busywork: reminding the model what their characters look like, regenerating dozens of clips for every small change, and learning the quirks of 20+ models. invideo's agents take all of that off the table, so creatives can get back to creating.

We don't just build AI products — we run on them. We believe the companies that win the next decade will be the ones that rethink every internal process from an AI-first perspective. That's where you come in.

The role

We're hiring an AI Business Automation Engineer to embed across our business functions — Finance, Legal, People, Operations, GTM — and rebuild how work gets done. You won't be patching existing workflows with AI band-aids. You'll be asking the harder question: if we were starting this process today, with current AI capabilities, what would it look like?

Think of it as being an internal consultant, builder, and product manager rolled into one. You'll diagnose friction, design AI-native replacements, ship working systems, and measure the impact.

What you'll do

  • Embed with a department for weeks at a time. Sit with the team, learn their workflows, identify the highest-leverage automation opportunities.
  • Rebuild processes from scratch using LLMs, agents, RPA, and integrations across our tool stack (Slack, Notion, contract platforms, ticketing systems, HR and finance tools, and more).
  • Ship internal tools and agents — from automating vendor onboarding and contract review, to building self-serve HR assistants, to closing the books faster with AI-driven reconciliation.
  • Define metrics for each automation — hours saved, cycle time reduction, error rates — and prove the impact.
  • Evangelize AI-first thinking across the company. Train teams, document patterns, build a playbook other companies will eventually copy.
  • Stay on the frontier — evaluate new models, frameworks, and tools (Claude, GPT, agent frameworks, MCP, computer use, etc.) and bring the best ones in.

Who you are

  • 3+ years building software, automation, or AI-powered systems. You can ship — not just prototype.
  • Strong working knowledge of LLM APIs, prompt engineering, function calling, RAG, and agent frameworks.
  • Comfortable with Python or Elixir, and at least one scripting/integration platform (Zapier, n8n, Make, custom code — whatever the job needs).
  • You think in systems. You can sit through a finance close or a legal review and immediately see where the leaks are.
  • High agency. You don't wait for a spec — you go find the problem and bring back a working solution.
  • Strong communicator. You can explain a vector database to a recruiter and an offer letter workflow to an engineer.

Here's what we're looking for

A hacker-coded builder — someone who'd rather ship the thing than wait for it. You've delivered in ambiguous environments, picked up unfamiliar stacks and made them work, and sat with the people who feel a problem to figure out what actually moves the number. You understand why the business cares about what you're building, not just how to build it. You've already folded AI agents and coding assistants into how you work — shipping better and faster than was possible eighteen months ago. Here, you take that all the way.

The problems keep changing — a Finance integration this week, a data pipeline the next, an AI agent the week after. You work close to the people who own the outcome, ship production-grade software that holds up under real load, and move the metrics that matter. What never changes: you ship fast and to a high bar. Beautiful work, done quickly. Everything else is negotiable.

Why this role matters

Most companies will spend the next five years trying to figure out how to use AI internally. We want to figure it out in the next twelve months. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to leadership, real budget to build, and the chance to define what an AI-native operating model looks like — at a company that's already shipping AI to millions.

What we offer

  • Competitive compensation
  • Health insurance for you and your family
  • Top-tier hardware and a no-questions-asked budget for AI tools, APIs, and learning
  • A team that ships fast and argues honestly
